The famous circus performer, Erendira Vasquez Wallenda, is planning an attempt at breaking a world record. Her husband, Nik Wallenda, previously broke records after crossing the falls on a high-wire. What Erendira Wallenda Has to Say About Her Upcoming Stunt
The renowned performer informed interviewers that it is not the first time that she has hung beneath a helicopter, however, it will be the first time she is hanging from a helicopter by her teeth! She decided to develop this specific stunt to break her husband’s world record by 100 feet.
When asked what type of equipment Erendira would be utilized to hang by her teeth, she informed that it is a specially molded bite guard. However, she said, even though most would assume that she will be hanging by her teeth when it is her jaw strength that will allow her to stay suspended from the helicopter.
Erendira comes from a family of circus performers–eight generations on her mom’s side and seven generations on her father’s side. Her first performance in front of people was when she was five years old. She goes on to describe how growing up in a traveling circus family allowed her to see the world while remaining a tight-knit family.
Erendira and her husband have three children: a 19-year-old, a 16-year-old, and a 14-year-old. After she completes her stunt, on June 15, she will be getting on a plane to go to Paris Island, SC. Her oldest son will be graduating from the Marine Corps boot camp. Even though her children do not plan to continue the family tradition of walking the wire, they are proud parents because their kids are passionate about their interests.
