The race is additionally the final competition in the NASCAR Cup Series’ Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series playoffs and is part of the Ford Championship Weekend. The weekend consists of the Ford EcoBoost 200 for the Camping World Truck Series and the Ford EcoBoost 300 for the Xfinity Series.
Developed and constructed as part of the city’s rebuilding efforts following the devastation caused by Hurricane Andrew, the raceway has since flourished into a pivotal location in several car racing series. Located in Homestead, Florida, the track has multiple configurations and the venue has been integral in the promotion of several popular series of racing events including the Championship Cup Series, Indycar series races, and NASCAR, obviously.
