The Airbus H145 excels in HEMS operations. The latest model features a five bladed rotor system, increasing payload capacity by 150 kilograms and improving ride comfort for patients and crew. Its bearingless main rotor design simplifies maintenance, ensuring readiness for critical missions.

Powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines and equipped with the Helionix digital avionics suite, the H145 includes a high performance four axis autopilot, reducing pilot workload and enhancing safety.

Enhancing Norway’s Emergency Medical Services

Norwegian Air Ambulance manages all HEMS bases in Norway, operating a fleet mainly composed of Airbus H135 and H145 helicopters. The new H145 units will further improve the organization’s ability to provide swift medical aid, especially in remote areas.

The organization’s parent company, the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation, was the first globally to receive the five bladed H145 in 2020, showcasing its dedication to cutting edge technology for better patient care.

Expanding the fleet with Airbus H145 helicopters underscores Norwegian Air Ambulance’s commitment to high quality emergency care. The H145’s quiet operation and lower CO2 emissions align with environmental goals, while its efficiency ensures readiness for critical missions.

Thomas Hein, Head of Europe Region at Airbus Helicopters, praised the partnership, saying, “The H145’s global reputation in Helicopter Emergency Medical Services, combined with its low noise, emissions, and operating costs, makes it ideal for life saving missions with Norwegian Air Ambulance.”

Paving the Way for Enhanced Air Ambulance Missions

The purchase of up to eight Airbus H145 helicopters represents a major advancement for Norwegian Air Ambulance. By combining advanced aviation technology with a focus on patient care, the organization continues to lead in air medical transport.
