On January 27th, 2025, at 7:30 AM, Fair Lifts Helicopter Services completed a meticulously planned RTU Equipment & Materials helicopter lift at Melbourne Orlando International Airport, known as Project Vista. This complex project required precision, careful planning, and strict adherence to FAA regulations due to its location on airport grounds. The project involved placing 12 RTU units on the newly constructed MRO Hangar at the airport. These units are essential for climate control in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) hangars, which house aircraft during extensive service procedures. Initially, Precision Mechanical considered traditional crane options, but FAA restrictions made a 354-foot crane unsuitable due to safety concerns near active runways. The FAA denied the permit, creating a logistical challenge that necessitated an alternative solution.

The CAP outlined all necessary precautions, operational parameters, and emergency response measures. Fair Lifts managed the CAP to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, safety for personnel, and a smooth operation. A designated parking lot adjacent to the hangar served as the staging area, providing ample space for equipment preparation and helicopter maneuvering. Each RTU unit was securely attached to the Sikorsky S-61N, with thorough pre-flight safety inspections conducted before being airlifted to the MRO Hangar roof, reaching a height of approximately 60 feet.
