The United States Navy has awarded Sikorsky a contract worth 897 million dollars to build nine more CH-53K heavy-lift helicopters that will be used by the US Navy in future ventures. Sikorsky is a Lockheed Martin Company that is used for building new helicopters and selling them to militaries across the world, most notably the American military. The new contract that the US Navy has signed with Sikorsky boils down each helicopter that they give them to 97.6 million dollars apiece. The helicopter in question is a CH-53K, which is a very popular and advanced series of heavy-lift helicopters.
The US Navy has previously signed a Lot-5 deal with Sikorsky in which they will increase the number of CH-53K’s to 33, making for more heavy-hauling beasts that will help out the US Navy in their future ventures and missions. These helicopters are designed to carry large groups of individuals and cargo and carry single one-piece Cargo loads across large spaces of land. All of these helicopters are going to be delivered around the year 2024.
The CH-54K director had stated that Sikorsky wants to create the newest and most advanced series of heavy-lift helicopters. and wish to expand their services across the world to different militaries and increase the current skills in the system of their helicopters and make their helicopters more advanced in the future.
